Dua from Hadith

 ابوہریرہ، ابو قتادہ اور ابو ابراہیم اشھلی اپنے والد ‘جو کہ صحابی ہیں رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ایک جنازے کی نماز پڑھائی اور آپ نے یہ دعا پڑھی: ”اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَصَغِيرنَا وَكَبيرنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، وشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإسْلاَمِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوفَّهُ عَلَى الإيمَان، اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلاَ تَفْتِنَّا بَعدَهُ“ اے اللہ! ہمارے زندہ اور مردہ کو، ہمارے چھوٹے اور بڑے کو، ہمارے مردوں اور عورتوں کو، ہمارے حاضر اور غائب سب کو بخش دے۔ اے اللہ! ہم میں سے جس کو تو زندہ رکھے اسے اسلام پر زندہ رکھ اور ہم میں سے جسے موت دے اسے ایمان پر موت دے۔ اے اللہ! ہمیں اس کے اجر سے محروم نہ کر اور ہمیں اس کے بعد کسی فتنے میں مبتلا نہ کر۔ 

صحیح - اسے ابنِ ماجہ نے روایت کیا ہے۔

• Abu Hurayrah, Abu Qatādah, and Abu Ibrahīm al-Ash'hali - from his father (who was a Companion) - reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) once offered the funeral prayer over a deceased person and said the following: "O Allah, forgive those of us who are living and those of us who are dead, those of us who are young and those who are old, those of us who are males and those who are females, and those of us who are present and those who are absent. O Allah, whoever of us You give life, let him live upon Islam, and whoever of us You take in death, let him die in a state of faith. O Allah, deprive us not of his reward, and subject us not to temptation after his death."

• نبی ﷺ جب جنازہ پڑھاتے تو اِس مفہوم کی دعا فرماتے: اے اللہ! مسلمان معاشرے میں ہمارے تمام زندوں اور مُردوں، ہمارے چھوٹوں اور بڑوں، ہمارے مردوں اور عورتوں اور حاضرین و غائبین کی مغفرت فرما۔ اے اللہ! ہم میں سے جسے تو زندہ رکھے اسے اسلامی احکام پر عمل کرتے ہوئے زندہ رکھ اور جسے تو موت دے اسے ایمان کی حالت میں موت دے۔ یا اللہ! ہمیں مصیبت کے اجر سے محروم نہ فرما اور اس کے بعد ہمیں گمراہ نہ کر۔
•  Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer over a deceased person, he would say what means: "O Allah, forgive all of the Muslims, the living and the dead, the young and the old, the males and the females, the present and the absent. O Allah, whoever of us You give life, let him live while holding firmly to the teachings of Islam, and whoever of us You take his soul in death, let him die in a state of faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of the reward of bearing the calamity of his death, and do not let us go astray after his death."
